BY PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION

The Technical University of Munich (TUM) is conveniently located in the city center of Munich.

The nearest subway station is Theresienstraße (U2), just a 5-minute walk from the campus. You can also reach the university via Königsplatz (U2) or Stiglmaierplatz (U1/U7), both within walking distance. Several tram and bus lines also stop nearby, providing easy access from all parts of the city.

BY GERMAN RAIL

Munich Central Station (München Hauptbahnhof) is only 10–15 minutes from TUM by public transport. From the station, take the U2 subway towards Feldmoching and get off at Theresienstraße. From there, it is approximately a 5-minute walk to the university.

FROM THE AIRPORT MUC

Munich Airport (MUC) is located approximately 35 km northeast of the city center.

The university can be reached in about 45–60 minutes by public transport. Take either the S1 or S8 S-Bahn (the S1 runs via the west of Munich, whilst the S8 runs via the east) to Munich Central Station (München Hauptbahnhof), then continue with the U2 subway towards Feldmoching and exit at Theresienstraße. From there, it is about a 5-minute walk to the TUM main campus.

BY TAXIS AND RIDE-HAILING SERVICES

For a quick and convenient way to get around, you can use taxis or ride-hailing services such as Uber.

Taxis are available throughout the city and can be hailed at taxi ranks or booked by phone. The base fare is currently 5.90 euros, and passengers pay 2.70 euros for each additional kilometer.

Ride-hailing services can be booked quickly via the relevant apps.

The Technical University of Munich can be reached easily via Munich’s road network.

Due to its central location, parking directly on campus is very limited. Visitors are recommended to use one of the nearby public parking garages, such as Parkgarage Hochschulen, Parkhaus Karstadt am Hauptbahnhof, or other public parking facilities in the Maxvorstadt district. Please note that parking fees vary depending on the provider and duration of stay.
