From the Airport
S1 and S8 Journey time: approximately 40 minutes to the main station

The S-Bahn lines S1 and S8 run alternately between Munich Airport and the city centre. The S1 runs via the west of Munich, whilst the S8 runs via the east. A journey between Munich Airport and the main station takes approximately 40 minutes. As the S1 and S8 run alternately, services between the airport and the city centre run every 10 minutes.

Taxis and ride-hailing services

For a quick and convenient way to get around, you can use taxis or ride-hailing services such as Uber. Taxis are available throughout the city and can be hailed at taxi ranks or booked by phone. The base fare is currently 5.90 euros, and passengers pay 2.70 euros for each additional kilometer. Ride-hailing services can be booked quickly via the relevant apps.

There is free Wi-Fi available within the premises of TUM. To connect to BayernWLAN, select the @BayernWLAN network in your device’s Wi-Fi settings. Then open your browser, accept the terms and conditions on the landing page and click ‘Connect’. No passwords or registration are required.
