“Early-life Immunity” satellite workshop

The “Early-life Immunity” satellite workshop at the 55th Annual Meeting of the German Society for Immunology brings together researchers interested in immune development before and after birth, the transition from fetal to postnatal life, and the environmental, microbial, genetic and clinical factors that shape immunity in the perinatal period.

The workshop is jointly organized by EFIS-ELINE, the EFIS study group on Early-Life Immune Development, and the TRR359 PILOT consortium. Both initiatives share the aim of strengthening early-life immunology as an interdisciplinary field: by connecting scientists and clinicians, fostering collaboration and exchange of data and methods, supporting training, and advancing mechanistic insights into perinatal immune development toward better health outcomes for children.

The program will feature keynote lectures and contributed short talks (15 minutes). In addition, selected participants have the opportunity to present their most interesting results in a flash talk (3 minutes). All participants can present a poster, either in addition to a talk or alone. The focus will be on scientific exchange, emerging concepts, and discussion across disciplines. We therefore particularly encourage contributions from junior researchers and from researchers who would like to discuss ongoing projects, new hypotheses, methodological challenges, or translational perspectives with an interdisciplinary audience.

Contributions on all aspects of early-life immunity are welcome, including but not limited to fetal and neonatal immune development, perinatal immune-cell differentiation, tissue-specific immune maturation, host–microbiome interactions, infection and inflammation in early life, prematurity, maternal–infant immune interactions, systems immunology, single-cell and spatial approaches, and clinical translation.

The detailed program will be announced on the EFIS-ELINE page, where further information will be added.

Presenters of contributed talks are encouraged to register for the main conference. However, registration for the main event is not obligatory for participation in the satellite workshop. Participants who do not register for the main conference should contact us to obtain a separate invitation.
